Amritsar
The holy place for Sikhs, where the much-revered Golden Temple is located, Amritsar is a far cry from the Himalayan region, and yet there is a sense of love and peace. Visiting Amritsar is a wonderful opportunity for you to visit the famous Golden Temple, and take part in prayers. You can also try the langar (meal), served for free to all devotees. Jallianwala Bagh is also located here in Amritsar; it is the site where hundreds of Indians were massacred during the British rule, under General Dyer.
